How should I submit my application?
If you want to enroll in classes at a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college as part of the Unisa-TVET agreement, you can do so through the TVET college or through Unisa’s online or self-help alternatives.
For some qualifications, TVET colleges provide face-to-face tuition / courses for specified modules. Please double-check that the TVET college you’ve chosen offers the qualifications you want.

Apply for admission via a TVET college
- Please double-check that the TVET college you’ve chosen offers the certificate you want.
- Apply for Unisa admission through a TVET college. At the time of application, make it clear that you are applying for admission to Unisa. During the application procedure, make sure you provide all required papers and pay the application cost.
Online or at a Unisa self-help terminal, apply for admission to Unisa.
- Applicants can apply online at www.unisa.ac.za/apply.
- Visit a Unisa Regional Office to submit your full application (application form + uploaded supporting papers) online using the self-help stations (08:00-15:30, Mondays to Fridays)
Register for the 2023 academic year
All successful candidates who have confirmed their acceptance of Unisa’s offer will receive information on registration dates and the registration process from Unisa. For further information on how to register, go to www.unisa.ac.za/register.

Application for admission 2023
Although the University of South Africa maintains an open application policy, students should always check to see if the qualifications for which they are applying are not overcrowded for that semester or year.
Most certifications are now filled for the academic year 2023. The university will determine if any credentials have room for the second semester of 2022 by the end of April 2023. Applicants are eligible to apply for open qualifications. These credentials may be found on the application page at www.unisa.ac.za/apply.
Applicants who meet all of the entrance requirements will be offered a spot in semester 2 in May 2023.
