The Centre for Business Management (CBM), which is housed in the College of Economic & Management Sciences, provides introductory, practical non-degree tuition in commerce, business, and management sciences in order to develop skills and knowledge in line with the needs of the economy and business community.
The Centre offers Short Learning Programmes (SLPs) that quickly and effectively prepare students for the corporate world. These SLPs address a wide range of topics in commerce, business, and management, including finance, banking, insurance, and marketing.

In addition to the foregoing, CBM conducts management science research for the corporate sector and participates in community service.
The Centre recognizes the core idea that continuous management education is the obligation of the institution and the business community in order to achieve its objectives. It aspires to complete its mission in collaboration with the Departments of Business Management, Finance, Risk Management, and Banking, Marketing and Retailing, and Human Resources Management, as well as the entire university.

Please keep in mind that all of CBM’s short learning programs are classified as non-formal credentials.
Registration dates:
- First semester: 01 December 2022 to 29 January 2023
- Second semester: 01 June 2023 to 30 June 2023
- Year modules: 01 December 2022 to 15 March 2023

The registration process at CBM
- Complete the registration form
- Receive your student number
- Make a payment
- Get your study material
Download and complete the registration form (PDF/ MS Word), then send it to CBM with copies of your National Senior Certificate and ID via:

After your registration form has been received and processed, you will get your student number within two weeks.
CBM students who have already registered can continue to utilize their CBM student number.
Students who have previously registered with Unisa for a diploma or degree will be given a new CBM student number.

Only when you have received your student number, which must be used as your payment reference, may you make payment.
A copy of the proof of payment must be faxed to 086 641 7259 or e-mailed to cbmfinance@unisa.ac.za.
After your money has been accepted, your study materials will be provided to you within 7 working days.
If your study material does not arrive on time, call CBM study material at 012 429 6670/4920 for your shipment tracking number.
