Short Learning Programmes (non-formal qualifications)
Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes focus on “just in time” and “just enough” learning to address a specific societal learning requirement. This requirement could be to increase access to other Short Learning Programmes or formal credentials at Unisa, or it could be to address a specific need in the business.
Short Learning Programs can help you refresh or enhance your skills and knowledge in a certain field, allowing you to continue learning throughout your life. Short Learning Programmes help students with their continued professional development in this way by upgrading their skills and knowledge in newly developing areas or by sharing research findings.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
You will have acquired a variety of skills, talents, and experiences during your life. This knowledge, which may or may not have come from formal education and training, is useful regardless of where or when it was acquired. You may have acquired skills or information through a mix of on-the-job training, on-the-job experience, short courses, or community service in a relevant profession. RPL allows you to earn credits in Unisa’s official certificate, diploma, and degree programs based on the level and breadth of your expertise. Your earlier learning will be compared to predetermined learning outcomes.
