Re-marking of examination answer books

Students receive procedures for remarking examination scripts along with their examination results.

Only those students who obtain 35% – 49% or 68% – 74% in a study unit may apply for the remark of such study unit.

Remarking requests must be submitted online using myunisa and must be accompanied by the required charge.

On the myUnisa website, find the amount due under “Miscellaneous fees” under Study costs.

Answer scripts with merely a mark reading sheet will not be noticed because they are already marked electronically. A student may not request a remark in relation to the practical portion of an examination.

How to Get Started

In myUnisa, you can fill up an online application form. Navigate to the Examination Results feature in the administration area of myUnisa.

An external examiner or moderator who was not involved in the original marking will do or verify the remarking.

Around two months following the deadline, exceptional findings will be released. Even if it is lower than the original mark, the final outcome will be the mark provided after commenting.

If a student meets the following criteria, remarking fees will be refunded:

who previously failed, now PASSES as a result of remarking;
who previously failed, now PASSES with a SUBMINIMUM (if applicable) as a result of remarking;
is given a DISTINCTION as a result of remarking;
receives admission to study for a higher qualification as a result of commenting.
